About Me.
Resume
I am a 5 years-experienced Stage Manager highly organized with a great interpersonal skills, I like working in fast paced and dynamic environments. I am currently working internationally in large-scale productions of opera, ceremonies and events.
I have a passionate and active interest in performing arts, since I started to practice theatre during my High School and University in Rome. I have found my professional path with the awareness that culture is part of our intellectual decisions and individual identity. This brought me to focus my career on discovering and learning how a production is made of. This interest and curiosity evolved into a passion for Stage Management through my practical experiences during my BA as an Assistant Stage Manager and Assistant Director at the Rome Opera House and as a Production Assistant at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. I have graduated at "La Sapienza" University of Rome in Performing Arts with a votation of 108/110 discussing a thesis entitled "Cultural redevelopment of Rome through performing arts from the 1970's until today: from the Teatro Tenda to the Auditorium Parco della Musica", with interviews to the former Major of Rome (Walter Veltroni), the former Councillor of Culture in Rome Giovanna Marinelli and the CEO of Musica per Roma Foundation (Auditorium Parco della Musica) José Ramon Dosal.
After my experience at the Rome Opera House, I was selected for my first job abroad at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018 with the Pleasance Theatre Trust, become one of the biggest and most highly respected venues at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with an international profile, specialised in comedies. This opportunity allowed me to work on several productions from the Get-in to the Get-out, following the Techinal period and the shows run. Specifically, I worked for the first two weeks of the festival in two Fringe theatres (20 shows in total per day), then I followed only the bigger one (Pleasance "Above") for the two weeks left. In terms of my duties, I was responsible for the whole festival for the running of the venue "Pleasance Above" as a technician (stage/lighting/sound), developing my technical skills, flexibility and spirit of adaptability. One of the 10 shows, Rose Matafeo: Horndog, has been awarded as "Best Comedy Show" at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2018. Other shows included Ed Gamble: Blizzard (BBC Two, Comedy Central and Sky) Felicity Ward: Busting a nut (Nomination for "Best Comedy Show" at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2018), Romeo and Juliet, Dracula, the clown show Better Together (winner of the Sit-Up Audience Engagement Award 2018) and many other shows.
